Venice is a city in Sarasota County on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Local attractions include Venice Beach and its offshore coral reef, Caspersen Beach for shell and shark tooth hunting, the Centennial Park interactive fountain and the Monty Andrews Arboretum. It is also the home of the Jewish Congregation of Venice
The Jewish Congregation of Venice (JCV) was founded in 1981 as a place for local residents to practice their religion and share their Jewish roots and values. Since that time, the JCV has grown into a welcoming, vibrant community where friends and families learn together and explore Jewish teaching and practice; a place to share our prayers and dreams and be part of a caring congregation.
The Jewish Congregation of Venice embraces Jewish diversity; they are not affiliated with Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist or any other denomination or particular philosophy of Judaism. Their members come together as Jews to celebrate what we have in common, not highlight or focus on what makes us different; to practice, treasure, celebrate and fine tune our diverse yet Jewish ways of being. The JCV is a place of Jewish belonging, where all Jews can find sacred space and acceptance.
The JCV Men’s Club is an auxiliary organization of the Jewish Congregation of Venice, whose primary purpose is to provide social, educational, cultural, and spiritual services for the men of the JCV, as well as for the entire JCV community. They provide opportunities for men to gather for fellowship, recreation and personal growth while supporting the mission, services, and activities of the Jewish Congregation of Venice.
JCV Mens Club organized many fun events in 2022 including a weekly Golf and Pickle Ball outings, a Men’s Club Fishing Trip, a River River Tour Boat Ride, a Men’s Club Picnic and BBQ to honor our Veterans and a baseball outing see the Tampa Bay Rays vs. Pittsburgh Pirates. Looking ahead, Men’s Club is planning multiple activities, including weekly golf at various courses with other members, regular Pickle Ball games, monthly meetings with an optional Poker game afterwards and boat trips (Sightseeing and fishing). The JCV Men’s Club is always welcome fresh ideas and participants; for new member inquiries please contact Edward Lipman at [email protected].
