The Temple Men's Clun of Brevard is planning a two-part, hands-on, Wine Making program beginning November 4

Each week, FloridaRegionFJMC.org brings you the latest news and information about Jewish Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods in the Sunshine State. Today we will take a trip to Viera, Florida, a master-planned community located in the central coastal region of Brevard County and shine a spotlight on the Temple Israel of Brevard Men’s Club.

Temple Israel of Brevard is an inclusive, dynamic and vibrant holy community, formed in 1965 as a Reform Congregation on Merritt Island, moving to it’s current location in Viera, Florida in 1997. At Temple Israel you will find worship services of varying flavors, learning opportunities for everyone and social activities filled with fun and of course, food.

Temple Israel members enjoy a full range of programming year round; there is an organization or activity for almost every age group or area of interest, encouraging all congregants to become actively involved in a project or activity suitable to their spiritual well being. New congregants are especially encouraged to express their areas of interest and to get involved as soon as possible as a way to meet other members and form warm friendships. Come experience Temple Israel’s music-filled, vibrant Shabbat worship and meet Rabbi Brett Tancer, and you will understand why Temple Israel of Brevard is your home for dynamic Reform Judaism in Viera.

The Temple Israel Men’s Club will is planning many interesting and engaging programs and events in the coming year, and everyone is invited to join the fun, beginning with a two-part, hands-on Winemaking class.

At the first session will be on Friday November 4 at 4pm when we will learn about the winemaking process and begin our grape fermentation; we will also do some taste tests to compare store-bought wine with homemade wines. On Sunday, December 4 at 4pm the Men’s Club invites you to return to Temple Israel to sample the product and bottle our wine in special cobalt blue bottles; cork the bottles and apply homemade wine labels. The cost to participate in event is only $18 per participant; the first 20 participants will also get a bottle of homemade wine to take home. Please RSVP to Terry Berman at (321) 617-3749 or email at [email protected] to be a part of this fun, TIMC fundraiser; more details to follow for a Temple Israel dinner and wine gathering early next year.
