The mission of the Temple Israel Men’s Club is to perpetuate the ideals of Conservative Judaism of Temple Israel & Central Florida and to support its Educational, Spiritual, Social, Recreational, Adult and Youth Programming. Men’s Club activities include religious and social activities for the congregation, Religious School functions, fund raising, supporting and co-sponsoring events with the Women of Temple Israel. The Temple Israel Men’s Club has a bowling league and sponsors a monthly, first Monday poker game.
The Temple Israel Men’s Club recently hosted a special Latke’s and Vodka’s event for Chanukah. Club President Natan Brener describes the program; “We tasted different kinds of vodka, donuts, Latkes and Israeli salad and played with the dreidel and chocolate coins. Finally, we had a discussion about the Maccabean; in their position, will you support them or the pro Hellenic culturally sector of the society? Talk a about cultural globalization vs Jewish identity, then and today, here and in Israel”.
Looking ahead, Natan Brener invites you to save the date – the weekend of February 2 through 4, 2024 – to take part in the Temple Israel Men’s Club Camping Shabbaton at Louisa State Park. Join with Men’s Club for a weekend filled with nature and nurture, hiking and havdalah, campfires, comraderie and so much S’mores.
