Temple Israel is a progressive Conservative synagogue serving Central Florida

Temple Israel of Winter Springs, Florida is an egalitarian conservative synagogue where tradition and change sit comfortably side by side; a family of families with a strong sense of community, deeply rooted in Jewish tradition but progressive in outlook. Temple Israel is a center for lifelong Jewish learning, offering a wide variety of opportunities to meet the diverse needs of its congregation through teaching and living tikun olam and being an active force in community service initiatives. Temple Israel is also a kehilla, a sacred community of people engaged with each other to seek G-d, to explore and live out our understanding of Judaism, to offer and to give support, to share joy and sorrow, to learn and grow together and to explore the meaning of our lives and the wisdom of our ancestors.

The mission of the Men’s Club of Temple Israel is to perpetuate the ideals of Conservative Judaism of Temple Israel & Central Florida, and to support its Educational, Spiritual, Social, Recreational, Adult and Youth Programming. Men’s Club activities include religious and social activities for the congregation, Religious School functions, fund raising, supporting and co-sponsoring events with the Women of Temple Israel. The Temple Israel Men’s Club has a bowling league and sponsors a monthly, first Monday poker game at Temple Israel.

Over the past several months the Temple Israel Men’s Club organized a diverse array of engaging programming and well attended events including a Hearing Men’s Voices program: “How Can We Live in a More Spiritual World”, a Whiskey and Bourbon tasting program and a group hike at Little Big Econ State Forest at the Barr Sty Trailhead. The Men’s Club kicked off 2024 with a lively “Men’s Club First Amendment discussion” and a joint dinner program with the Ohev Shalom Men’s Club. During February 2024, the Temple Israel Men’s Club participated in the FJMC World Wide Wrap and organized a Camping Shabbaton at Louisa State Park for a weekend filled with nature and nurture, hiking and Havdalah, campfires, comraderie and so much S’mores.

The program cost is $36pp and includes light food and a 15% discount on all wine purchased on the day of the event.
