In this four-part series, Florida Region FJMC invites you to take a seat at the table, expand your palate and try something new with the “TXOKO Culinary Club”, an original program from the Brotherhood of Kol Ami in Tampa, Florida.
The “TXOKO Culinary Club” is a hands-on, participatory group gastronomic experience with a focus on learning about, preparing and enjoying a delicious and authentic communal meal of home-made, ethnic “Jewish food” from different countries and cultures from around the world.
The second episode of the “TXOKO Culinary Club” focused on the Jewish Cuisine of Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia; where many of our ancestors spent many centuries thriving and suffering, and where Yiddish came into its own. Kol Ami Brotherhood President Jon Zimmer reports, “we created Pierogis, Kielbasa (Glatt Kosher) and Sauerkraut soup with Ginger Snap Cookies and Tomatoes, Stuffed Cabbage, and a few other dishes emblematic of the area! To jest dobre!”
