Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis, Pickleball, Quidditch, NFL, NBA, NCAA, Major League, Minor League, Fantasy Leagues, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS!!!!! Now that I have your attention, allow me to introduce you to the FJMC Sports Affinity Group.
The Sports Affinity Group began in 2020 as one of FJMC’s first responses to isolation brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. There are now a dozen affinity groups serving thousands of FJMC members and non-members. Our Sports Affinity Group brings you sports stars, broadcasters, owners, sports writers, authors, or anyone related to the sports world with a unique perspective.
Please tune in on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 8pm ET when the FJMC Sports Affinity Group will host a special webinar featuring Mort Zachter, author of “Red Holzman: The Life and Legacy of a Hall of Fame Basketball Coach“. Author Mort Zachter has taken on the challenge of sharing Coach Red Holzman’s incredible story. From humble beginnings as the son of immigrant parents growing up in Brooklyn, Holzman paved a path of excellence at every level. From his time in the Navy to breaking into the NBA and his rise through the coaching channels, author Zachter leaves no stone unturned. With interviews with those who played with, against, and for Red, including Bill Bradley, Phil Jackson, Bob Cousy, and Walt “Clyde” Frazier to name a few, the life of a basketball pioneer—one that has since been held quiet—is shared for the first time.
