The Brotherhood of Temple Beth-El is a multi lingual and multi generational, fun group of active Jewish Men from all walks of life.

There are over a hundred different Synagogues, Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods in Florida; some of them may have the same name however each is unique. Today, we will take a trip to the Gulf of Mexico along Florida’s beautiful west coast and shine a spotlight on the Temple Beth-El Men’s Club of St. Petersburg.

Keeping Florida Jewish since 1928

Located Temple Beth-El is a Reform Jewish congregation that has served this area since 1928 and is focused on strengthening relationships and making connections. Beth-El is a welcoming community where Jewish and interfaith households experience an uplifting and joyful sense of belonging as they connect with each other and the greater community and world around us.

The Temple Beth-El Brotherhood are the Boyz in the Hood

The Brotherhood of Temple Beth-El (TBE) are men of various ages who support our youth during their Sunday Morning Program as well as provide scholarships for Youth Group Kallah & Summer Camps. For more than 20 years, the “Boyz in the Hood” have also been dedicated to providing the finest culinary specialties to the Temple, its members & the community. All net proceeds are returned to the temple through the annual Family KOA Camping Weekend, weekly Sunday Schmoozes, scholarships to Camp Coleman and support to the Raymund Family Religious School and BEEFY & Jr. BEEFY Youth Groups.

Recent Brotherhood programs include participation in the FJMC World Wide Wrap, an international, coordinated minyan encouraging Jewish men and women to learn about and participate in one of the basic commandments in the Torah: the wrapping of tefillin.

Looking ahead, the Beth-El Brotherhood hosts a monthly Brotherhood Schmooze; join them on Sunday morning March 16 for breakfast, bagels and brotherhood and come home with new friends. Save the date(s) for more Schmooze on Sundays mornings March 30, April 6 and 27, and on May 4, 2025.

As time marches forward, it is our task to remember and teach about the Shoah. Each year, the Brotherhood distributes FJMC Shoah Yellow Candles™ to the Temple Beth-El family of families. On the night of Yom HaShoah, the candles are lit to shine a light of memory, a light of education, and a light that we will never forget. Participation in this program helps to keep the memory of the Shoah alive and to remember what could happen if we don’t stand up for ourselves. Yom HaShoah begins at sundown Wednesday April 23, 2025 / 27 Nisan 5785. Please join us in a moment of solidarity for our six million brothers and sisters that were lost in the Shoah.

Save the dates: Thursday July 3 to Sunday July 6, 2025 to be part of the Temple Beth-El Brotherhood / Florida Region FJMC delegation to attend the 2025 FJMC International Biennial Convention in Chicago !!
