The FJMC has a challenge for your Men’s Clubs or Brotherhood: get healthy and be happy.
Last year the FJMC introduced the Wellness Initiative in order to increase awareness of health and wellness issues by our members, encourage Men’s Clubs / Brotherhoods to adopt health and wellness programming as an integral part of their mission, add visibility and vitality to club programming on a local level and create another “portal of entry” for men otherwise not involved to play a more active role in their Men’s Club or Brotherhood.
As we roll 2024, FJMC International Past President Dr. Robert E. Braitman is offering your Men’s Club / Brotherhood the opportunity to become a “Wellness Club“:
“I am encouraging clubs to “sign up” as a Wellness Club as a sign that the club is making wellness one of its signature programs. It also allows our Wellness committee to send out targeted messages and updates. There is no cost to sign up!
Our committee has been working with a major health and wellness firm (www.wellworksforyou.com) They will be adapting their extraordinary wellness app for exclusive use by FJMC members. I will be sharing more information about the app (we are working on a training video now) but I can tell you that it has loads of useful information and resources (including some Torch Award winning programs from other FJMC clubs). Users of the app can enroll in the upcoming “Walk Through Israel“, a virtual walking challenge that will pit clubs against each other during the coming spring. Again more on that later.
One of the most interesting Torch Award winners had members commit to their wellness program through a variety of activities during the year. Each member paid to be a part of the program which I think reinforced their commitment to their wellness. We are suggesting that Wellness Clubs enroll members this way for a nominal charge (e.g. $18). $9 of that will go to Wellworks for men who use the app. We encourage clubs to then use the remainder of the enrollment fee for Wellness programs or perhaps for a charitable purpose such as support for Israel.
It was clear at our last convention that the time has come for the health of our men to be a priority for FJMC, our clubs and regions. I hope that your club and the clubs in your region will join us!

Transform your Men’s Club into an FJMC Wellness Club and receive timely tips about meaningful and successful programs from around the continent. Wellness Clubs will have opportunities to “toot their own horn” about the good initiatives that you have developed. Members of FJMC Wellness Clubs will also have access to a new app customized just for FJMC that will include tips for wellness and healthy eating as well as resources to track various health parameters. Your members will also have the opportunity to participate in an exciting fitness challenge coming in the spring-only for members of FJMC Wellness Clubs.
