The Florida Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs warmly welcomes the Congregation B'nai Torah (CBT) Men's Club to our family.

According to the latest US Census data, Florida is one of the fastest growing regions of the country with population growth of 2.7 million (14.6%) between 2010 and 2020, double the rate of overall US population. The Florida Region of FJMC is also growing and today we are proud to announce that the Congregation B’nai Torah (CBT) Men’s Club of Ormond Beach, Florida has joined Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs.

Congregation B’nai Torah Men’s Club President Mark Givarz describes the Club as an active group of men committed to creating programs which appeal to a wide array of interests while promoting camaraderie, friendship, community service, and study. The CBT Men’s Club strives to create family friendly events while making Judaism more meaningful to our members through promoting religious, cultural and social activities, ensuring Tzedakah is at the core of what we do. Everyone is welcome to join us for fun times, learning and performing mitzvot.

In a recent issue of the CBT monthly newsletter Torah Times, Men’s Club President Mark Givarz reported: “I believe that the time has come for men to assess how they view themselves, their families and their life, both inside and outside the Jewish community. The challenge is to gain insights that will enable men to find new comfort and meaning within an ever-changing religious and secular environment. The Men’s Club will sponsor a program to provide men with new insights about these and other important issues. It is hoped that they will have a better awareness and understanding about their roles as Jewish men in today’s world. The program will be called ‘Hearing Men’s Voices‘. Look for an announcement soon on the time and place. I’m looking forward to seeing you at an upcoming event.”

Over the past several months the CBT Men’s Club facilitated many well attended programs including Schnapps in the Sukkah, Men’s Club Gun Safety Day, a Men’s Club hike in the Heart Island Conservation Area and Men’s Club Shabbat. The CBT Men’s Club also took part in the FJMC World Wide Wrap and distributed Shoah Yellow Candles to remember those who died in the Holocaust. Looking ahead, Men’s Club and Sisterhood will jointly lead Kabbalat Shabbat service on Friday, June 14.
