Kol HaKavod to Steve Jenkins on being named Temple Beth-El August 2024 "Mensch of the Month" and thank you for your service as acting President of the Temple Beth-El Brotherhood

There are over a hundred different Synagogues, Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods in Florida; some of them may have the same name however each is unique. Today, we will take a trip to the tranquil shores of the Gulf of Mexico, home of the Temple Beth El Brotherhood of St. Petersburg.

The Temple Beth-El Brotherhood are the Boyz in the Hood

The Brotherhood includes men of various ages who support our youth during their Sunday Morning Program as well as provide scholarships for Youth Group Kallah & Summer Camps. For more than 20 years, the “Boyz in the Hood” have also been dedicated to providing the finest culinary specialties to the Temple, its members & the community. All net proceeds are returned to the temple through the annual Family KOA Camping Weekend, weekly Sunday Schmoozes, scholarships to Camp Coleman and support to the Raymund Family Religious School and BEEFY & Jr. BEEFY Youth Groups.

Temple Beth-El recently named acting Brotherhood President Steve Jenkins as their August 2024 Mensch of the Month:

Steve Jenkins is a remarkable individual whose contributions span a variety of areas, making a significant impact on the community. His dedication is evident in his role as a gardener at the ECC, where “Gardening with Mr. Steve” has become a cherished activity, fostering a love for nature among young children.

His sense of camaraderie shines through in his involvement with “The Boyz in the Hood,” our brotherhood cooking volunteers. Steve’s leadership skills are further exemplified as a key member of the Rabbinic Hiring & Transition committee, where he plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth transitions and the successful integration of new rabbis. Additionally, his participation in TBE Walks highlights his commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community bonding. Finally, as a Board Member, Steve demonstrates unwavering dedication and strategic thinking, contributing to the overall governance and success of the organization. We are so thankful to have you Steve!
