- FJMC Meets in Chicago, July 3-6, 2025
“Ready to Embrace Change, Energize Communities”
It’s been nearly 18 years since the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs (FJMC) convened in the Chicago area for its biennial international convention, held at the Indian Lakes Resort in northwest suburban Bloomingdale, Illinois during the summer of 2007. Unlike the 2007 venue, FJMC is primed to formally introduce downtown Chicago to more than 400 attendees expected to converge upon the Sheraton Grand Riverwalk Hotel for an outstanding week of camaraderie, learning, touring and prayer.
FJMC returns to Chicago from July 3-6, 2025 for its upcoming convention ready to “Embrace Change, Energize Communities.” FJMC event co-chairs, Mark Givarz and Jay Steinmetz acknowledge that conventions have played a vital organizational role since the first event in 1931, albeit during daunting Depression times.
The action-packed week this July includes these pre-convention activities: a visit to iconic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs for a baseball game against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, July 1; a daytime tour of “Jewish” Chicago on Wednesday, July 2. An evening boat ride on Lake Michigan that includes a menu of deep-dish pizza, beverages and fireworks’ display are now confirmed for July 2. A morning tour of Chicago’s Griffin Museum of Science & Industry will take place on Thursday, July 3. The museum is the largest science center in the Western Hemisphere and includes such exhibits as the Henry Crown Space Center, U-505 Submarine, and the NASCAR Next Generation Ford Mustang. And there’s more, within a short walking distance of the Sheraton Riverwalk, there are opportunities for shopping, strolling down Chicago’s Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave., and taking in all the sites and sounds of the eclectic Navy Pier grounds and the scenic Chicago River showcasing one of the top-ranked and celebrated river walks in the U.S.
Since 1979, FJMC conventions have offered a significant opportunity for men’s club/brotherhood officers, members and the growing international leadership to meet, share experiences, and learn from each other. In 1983, FJMC expanded its convention programming to offer training for club and regional officers, with lay leaders functioning as instructors. Two years later, FJMC introduced the Ma’asim Tovim Award presented at each convention to men who have made outstanding contributions to their regions and communities.

FJMC is encouraging you to register for Convention on or before January 10, 2025. By doing so, you’ll be eligible for exclusive access to purchase tickets to the Tuesday Cubs game and the Wednesday night dinner cruise, as tickets for these events are very limited. In addition, the $50 registration fee will be waived for attendees who register online before February 8, 2025.
