To the FJMC Florida Region Officers and Board of Directors (Past and Present) and all Florida Region Men’s Club Presidents and their families:
It has been my honor to serve you and your clubs for the past two years as the President of the Florida Region FJMC. and although my term does not expire until July, this will be my last Pesach as your Regional President. It has been my pleasure to meet so many of you in person as I have traveled around the state and visited so many member Synagogues as well as a few others who are considering affiliation with FJMC. It is always a gratifying experience to speak about all that the FJMC has to offer in support of our clubs and also the vast training opportunities as well as the variety of FREE TO MEMBERS online seminars and programs and social events. One of the best training events is almost around the corner and that would be our Convention which this year will be held in Chicago over the July 4th Holiday. Not only is it a training event, but also one for building new friendships; re acquainting with old friends, and a host of social activities for our members and their wives or significant others. There is more on the FJMC website and the Region website about convention – and oh yes.. if you are a fist time attendee from the Florida Region, there is also a small stipend to help defray some of the expense.
At this time, from my family to yours, Susan and I would like to extend a Zessin Pesach to all of you. This year during your Seder, please consider adding ( yes I know the Seder is already lengthy – and one year my grandson even said Zayde can’t we just watch the DVD of the Ten Commandments movie instead of the Seder – but in all seriousness, PLEASE consider adding special prayers and words to remember those who were killed/kidnapped/tortured and desecrated on October 7, 2023 and pray for all of the Iranian Proxies hostages who still have not been released nor those bodies whose remains have not been returned to their families. May we also add prayers and words of comfort to the brave men and women of the IDF and also those who have sacrificed their lives in defense of Israel. May those who perished in these horrific attacks be remembered and we pray comfort to all who mourn the losses. May we also pray for Peace in Israel, and an end to Antisemitism all over the world especially in the US on our college campuses, and in the streets of many of our major cities.
