Please tune in on Monday March 3, 2025 at 7pm ET for next two session of FJMC’s “Dads Support Group”, a bi-weekly support group specifically for Jewish dads and dads who are part of Jewish families, providing a safe, confidential spaces where fathers can come together to share experiences, seek guidance, and support one another in the challenges of parenting. The group is facilitated by Rabbi Noam Raucher, Executive Director of FJMC, and Psychologist, Dr. Gary Katz. The sessions will be rooted in Jewish values, offering spiritual and emotional support. They are open to all fathers who are part of the Jewish community. Impress your family and friends while celebrating your Jewish identity through the Joy of Soup. On Thursday March 6, 2025, 2025 at 8pm ET, the FJMC Cooking Affinity Group will present “Yes, Soup for You” featuring incoming FJMC Northern NJ Region President Larry Klioze. Yiddish Lite is meant for beginners – those who wish to learn a bissele (a little) Yiddish, common words and phrases), a few simple songs that maybe Bubby or Zeyde sang to you, and a vitz (joke) here and there. Participants will come away from each session with a greater appreciation of the Yiddish language and an ever-increasing Yiddish vocabulary, building a glossary of terms as we go along. Yiddish Lite is a delight. Whether you know no Yiddish at all, or who ken redn a bissel — can speak a little — Yiddish Lite is right for you. Please tune in on Sunday March 16, 2025 at 7:30pm ET when the FJMC will present a special Spotlight Series Webinar in honor of Women’s History Month featuring scholar-activist Dr. Keren McGinity to illuminate the similarities and differences between women’s experiences speaking truth to create positive change. Dr. McGinity will share findings from her new book “#Us Too: How Jewish, Muslim and Christian Women Changed our Communities“, now available in paper and via Open Access. At a time when women’s rights to bodily autonomy are being questioned, male allies are more important than ever. This session is intended to help Jewish men reflect on their own behaviors and be the true menschen of our Jewish values. Yiddish Alive is an interactive, Zoom based discussion about Yiddish, led by Joe Rotstein, Esther Scheer, Alan Davis, Barry Wagner and Jeffrey Newton, and hosted by Mike Mills. It offers an opportunity to speak a bissele Yiddish, share stories about our Zaidye’s and Bubbie’s, learn the Yiddish word of the day and more. The Sports Affinity Group began in 2020 as one of FJMC’s first responses to isolation brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. There are now a dozen affinity groups serving thousands of FJMC members and non-members.
