Over the past year, the Temple Emanuel of Lakeland Men’s Club, also known as the Jewish Men’s Club of Polk County, hosted a series of informative monthly bagel and lox breakfast meetings featuring various guest speakers as well as film screenings, a hand gun safety and training program and a field trip to tour and explore the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings on the Florida Southern College. “We had a great tour of the Florida Southern College campus led by the highly knowledgeable Brian Renz“, said Men’s Club President Rich Weiss. “Thank you to everyone that participated“.
The Jewish Men’s Club of Polk County was named in honor of former US President James K. Polk, whose 1845 inauguration was on the day after Florida became a state.
Looking ahead to 5786, the Jewish Men’s Club of Polk County will sponsor a monthly lox & bagel breakfast program with a guest speaker on the third Sunday of each month; fresh faces and ideas are always welcome. Upcoming Men’s Club breakfast meetings are scheduled for August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16 and December 21, 2025.
