Ed Kochman and Rich Nebb introduce the FJMC Inclusion Initiative at Congregation Ohev Shalom in Maitland

The Florida Region of FJMC stands with pride as we announce a new initiative to make everyone feel welcome at your Synagogue, Temple, JCC, Men’s Club and Brotherhood.

The Inclusion Initiative was developed over this past year in partnership with the Women’s League of Conservative Judaism with the goal to make our Clubs, Affiliates and Shuls more welcoming to several underserved communities. This impactful program was unveiled at the recent FJMC Leadership Development Institute and received a tremendous positive response.. The FJMC recently launched a dedicated Inclusion Initiative portal with extensive program resources at https://www.fjmc.org/inclusion-initiative-overview.

The Inclusion Initiative was designed to help develop a culture and environment in our clubs, congregations and Jewish communities which allows all to feel welcome and embraced no matter their unique identities and needs. To help clearly support and implement these efforts, the joint committee has developed various tools which are now available on our FJMC Website. These include the Inclusion Resource GuideDirectory of Outreach Organizations and Programs, and other valuable tools for your reference.

To further help promote awareness and support a welcoming environment for our congregational communities, the FJMC is generously offering specially printed outdoor signs (please click to sample), at no charge, to any of our regional clubs and congregations. These signs are available now and we will gladly deliver to your Synagogue at your request.

There are many Jews in Florida who feel less than fully included in Jewish life. Through our Inclusion Initiative, we want to help everyone feel welcome and at home at any synagogue, Men’s Club and Brotherhood in the State of Florida.  Regardless whether you are a Jew of Color, your physical or neurological limitations, sexual identity or non-traditional family structure, we want you to know that all are welcome to be part of our family of Jewish Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods.

Florida Region of FJMC is proud to partner with all other FJMC Regions in helping to implement this important initiative, permitting all our Jewish community to fully embrace the sacred notion of B’Tzelem Elokim: All Individuals are made in G-d’s Image. We want every Jewish Men’s Club and Brotherhood in Florida to be known as a place where you can come in and end up wanting to do and be more. We encourage all Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods to learn more about the FJMC – WLCJ Inclusion Initiative today.

This message is proudly brought to you by the Florida Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs. We serve the needs of Jewish Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods across the State of Florida from the Panhandle to Miami.  If you are not yet affiliated with the Federation, then today is the day to join us.
