- If I had a TARDIS and could travel anywhere in time and space, then where and when would I go? Where else but Sunny Florida on Superbowl Sunday, 2001 to read the latest edition of the quarterly Florida Region FJMC newsletter, TAPUZ and take part in the very first ever FJMC World Wide Wrap.
The cover story of the Winter/Spring 2001 issue of TAPUZ (Volume VIII, No.1) read, “Thousands of Jews from around the Globe Join the FJMC’s First World Wide Wrap“. On page 4, then Florida Region FJMC President Alan Gross reported:
“January 28, 2001 was the Federation of Jewish Men’s Club’s World Wide Wrap. I have been informed informally that all of our Clubs participated in the Wrap. The event was very successful and will probably be repeated”..
Since the introduction of the FJMC World Wide Wrap in 2001, each year on Superbowl Sunday morning, Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods across Florida and around the world have taken part in the annual FJMC World Wide Wrap program.
The World Wide Wrap is an international, coordinated minyan encouraging Jewish men and women to learn about and participate in one of the basic mitzvot, or commandments, in the Torah: the wrapping of tefillin.
Looking ahead to 2025, SAVE THE DATE on your Men’s Club, Brotherhood, Sisterhood and Synagogue calendars – Superbowl Sunday morning February 9, 2025 – to take part in the 25th annual FJMC World Wide Wrap and join tens of thousands of Jewish men, women and youth across Florida, the United States and around the world as they gather in Brotherhood to participate in a morning minyan and learn about the wonder and joy of Tefillin. The Florida Region of FJMC invites all Men’s Club’s, Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods, Synagogues and JCC’s in the Sunshine State to save the date and be counted as part of World Wide Wrap 2025.
