September in Florida gets hot and humid, but the Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods of Florida Region FJMC are planning some cool programs to help you beat the heat with a September to remember.

Bur first….. the Florida Region FJMC Weekend Ruach Retreat will be live and in person over the weekend of November 1 to 3, 2024, centrally located at the beautiful Sheraton Orlando North in Maitland, Florida and we want every Men’s Club of Brotherhood to be represented. The events listed below are just a small sampling of some of the planned activities of Florida Region FJMC Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods during September 2024:

On September 8, the Temple Israel Men’s Club of Winter Springs will sponsor a domino and backgammon competition. On Sunday morning September 29, the Temple Israel Sisterhood and Men’s Club will jointly present guest speakers Dick Batchelor, former member of the Florida House of Representatives and author of “Building Bridges in Toxic Political Times” and League of Woman Voters President Cathy Swerdlow. Ongoing Temple Israel Men’s Club programs include a bowling league and a monthly, first Monday poker game at Temple Israel. The Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation Men’s Club cordially invites you to join them on Thursday evening, September 26th at at 7:30 p.m. for Thursday Night Football. Over the summer, the Congregation Beth Shalom Brotherhood of Clearwater has been working behind the scenes to bring a stellar portfolio of exciting programming for the coming year, starting on Sunday September 15 at 10:30am when the CBS Brotherhood will present a Men’s Health Forum on the topic “Aging Wisely: What sould we all be doing to best respond to the effects of aging?” featuring Dr. Robert Miller. On Sunday mornings September 22 and 29 at 10:30am, the CBS Brotherhood will sponsor two discussions about Israel. The first session will be on the topic, “The Latest Israeli Innovations in Medical, Agricultural, Green and Consumer Technologies” with guest speaker Eric Pastman. The second session on September 29 will feature Dr. Eric Steckler on the topic, “Defending Israel : Military Innovations of the IDF”. The Temple Beth Am Men’s Club (Margate) invites you to have fun and join them for on Sunday September 15 at 7pm for a unique “Jews in Baseball” Zoom event / discussion on the entertaining and laugh-filled behind the scenes story of the iconic Jews in Baseball artwork. You’ll hear about the multi-year quest of a Jewish baseball fan who brought together every significant living major league Jewish baseball player to participate, autograph, and tell their inside stories. On September 12, the Temple Beth Torah Brotherhood (Wellington) will be hosting their annual Kickoff Party & Football Night at Wellington’s Buffalo Wild Wings; the Buffalo Bills will be in Miami to take on our hometown Dolphins in a matchup of American Football Conference East rivals – be there! A charity poker tournament is also on the agenda for September. The following Thursday, September 19 will be the next monthly pop-up “Bros Night Out” event, location TBA. The Brotherhood of Kol Ami (Tampa) invites all Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods to begin celebrating 5785 a few days early with their 7th annual Craft Beer Tasting Night at a local craft brewery (Thursday, September 26). Last year we went to Carrollwood’s newest craft brewery; Wulfaven Brewing. It was great to support a local small business; the owner gave us a tour of the facility and explained some of the brewing process. More information coming soon.
