Congregation Kol Ami of Tampa is a kehillah (community) dedicated to innovation and tradition resulting in an inclusive, multi-generational community committed to improving ourselves and the world through ritual, educational, and social activities consistent with contemporary Conservative Judaism. The Brotherhood is an integral arm of Kol Ami.
Each year the Brotherhood of Kol Ami engages and connects with their members through a variety of educational and social events and Brotherhood President Jon Zimmer promises that the coming year will be even better than the last.
The Brotherhood will begin celebrating 5785 a few days early with their 7th annual Craft Beer Tasting Night at a local craft brewery (Thursday, September 26). Last year we went to Carrollwood’s newest craft brewery; Wulfaven Brewing. It was great to support a local small business; the owner gave us a tour of the facility and explained some of the brewing process. More information coming soon.
On Monday evening, October 21, the Brotherhood of Kol Ami will host its annual “Steak in the Sukkah” event featuring Steak (or chicken), adult beverages and a little learning. The following Monday October 28, the Brotherhood will host a “Torah on Tap” program featuring deep learning and light libations. Stay tuned for more details. Save the dates for Brotherhood Firearms Safety Day (Sunday November 10) and “Brotherhood Hike an Bike” (Sunday December 8), and a “Brotherhood Hang-Out Night” (December 19).
Looking ahead, mark your 2025 calendar for a thought provoking Hearing Men’s Voices program (Sunday January 12), the FJMC Worldwide Wrap and Kol Ami Brotherhood Superbowl party (Sunday February 9), Brotherhood Hangout (Thursday March 20), Brotherhood Cigars and Spirits Night (Thursday April 10 and the annual Kol Ami Brotherhood May of the Year award event (Sunday May 5).
