A roundup of Florida Region FJMC, Men's Club and Brotherhood Activities, Programs and Events during April 2025
Yom HaShoah begins sundown April 23, 2025 / 27 Nisan 5785

Chag Pesach Semeach from your friends at the Florida Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs (FJMC). The month of April brings Passover celebrations and Yom Ha’Shoah commemorations and the Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods of Florida Region FJMC are planning many engaging programs and events.

But first, as time marches forward, it is our task to remember and teach about the Shoah. Each year during April, Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods across Florida distribute thousands of FJMC Shoah Yellow Candles™ to their congregational families. On the eve of Yom HaShoah, sundown Wednesday April 23, 2025 / 27 Nisan 5785, candles will be lit around the world to shine a light of memory, a light of education, and a light that we will never forget.

That said, many residents in college dormitories, senior centers, nursing homes and other facilities do not permit an open candle flame. To respond to such needs, the Federation of Jewish Men’s Club developed the FREE Shoah Yellow Candle™ app as a practical and informal educational tool.

The FREE Shoah Yellow Candle™ app can also be used as a Yahrzeit candle for friends or family members on their remembrance dates, allowing the user to set an unlimited number of yearly reminders of such dates and specify for whom you light a candle. FREE Shoah Yellow Candle™ app is available for both iPhone and Android devices, as well as the Mac OS). This year Yom HaShoah begins at sundown Wednesday April 23, 2025 / 27 Nisan 5785. Please join us in a moment of solidarity for our six million brothers and sisters that were lost in the Shoah.

The events below are a small sampling of some of the planned activities of Florida Region FJMC Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods during April 2025:

The Temple Beth Am Men’s Club (Margate) is introducing “Men of the Round Table“, a place for men to gather for 90 minutes to share ideas, thoughts, concerns, happy occasions, sad ones, health issues or any other topic on your minds. Contributions towards the cost of coffee and donuts will be welcome. Reserve your seat at the Round Table at: https://www.beth-am.org/event/round-table. For more information email Beth Am Men’s Club Secretary Mel Chilewich at: chil56@comcast.net.
