Beer is science; the science of beer involves the conversion of malt and hops grain starches into sugars, then extracting those sugars and fermenting them with yeast.

The basic process of beer production includes Milling (the roasted malt is ground into smaller particles), Mashing (milled malt is mixed with hot water to create a mash), Lautering (the mash is separated into wort and spent grains), Boiling (the wort is boiled), Fermentation (yeast converts the sugars in the wort into alcohol and carbon dioxide), Maturing (the beer ages and matures) and finally, Packaging (in a bottle, can or keg).
