Inclusion is defined as, “the process, practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized; a commitment to welcoming, respecting, accepting, institutionally supporting and valuing diverse identities and communities of people.” The Inclusion Initiative was jointly developed by the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs (FJMC) and the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ). The goal of the Inclusion Initiative is for Men’s Clubs, Women’s League Affiliates and synagogues to create an environment that makes all underserved communities feel welcomed and embraced in the Jewish Community. One of several underserved communities identified by the inclusion initiative are Individuals with neurological and/or physical health challenges, such as a brain injury.

The FJMC Quality Club Award requirements for 2025 include engaging in a inclusion initiative activity. The Florida Region of FJMC wants to help your Men’s Club or Brotherhood satisfy the inclusion initiative activity requirement by hosting an inclusion program featuring a speaker from the Brain Injury Association of America.

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) provides the latest brain injury research, treatment options, resources, and information on local support services as well as the Voice of Brain Injury on Capitol Hill, advocating for greater access to care, expanded brain injury research, adequate resources for state programs, and increased congressional awareness of brain injury issues. The Brain Injury Association of America established the National Brain Injury Information Center (NBIIC) to support individuals and families who experience the life-changing effects of brain injury. The compassionate, knowledgeable brain injury specialists at NBIIC offer user-friendly information about brain injury and assist those who reach out in locating the specific rehabilitative, legal, financial, and other support services critical to maximizing their individual recovery needs.

The Brain Injury Association of America Speakers Bureau maintains a network of dynamic and engaging speakers available to speak to your Florida Region FJMC Men’s Club or Brotherhood.
