This post is part of a series highlighting the events and activities that took place from July 1 to July 6, 2025 at the FJMC Biennial Convention in Chicago, Illinois

Greetings from the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, the host venue of the 2025 FJMC Biennial Convention. Over the next few days, more than 300 leaders of Jewish Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods from across the United States, Canada and Latin America will gather for four days of fun and frivolity, passionate davening and Jewish learning, club and leadership training, inspiring keynote speakers and more. The full Convention agenda will include two days of pre-convention business meetings and family programming, followed by four days of Convention programs and activities.

The first day of pre-convention activities began with video recording sessions from various Regional Ma’asim Tovim award honorees. The Ma’asim Tovim Award is the highest recognition an FJMC Region can give to one of its members, usually given to individuals who have worked on behalf of the Region for many years.

The agenda continued with an afternoon of Major League Baseball excitement at historic Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs triumphantly defeat their Division rivals, the Cleveland Guardians (formerly known as the Cleveland Indians).

Tuesday evening concluded with a relaxing sunset stroll to nearby Navy Pier, home to over 50 acres of public parks, restaurants, retail shops, exposition facilities and the iconic 200-foot “Centennial Wheel” offering iconic 360-degree views of Chicago and Lake Michigan.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Wednesday’s agenda includes a docent led bus tour of Jewish Chicago, an FJMC Executive Committee planning meeting followed by spirited Mincha / Maariv services and a Lake Michigan dinner cruise featuring unprecedented views of the Chicago waterfront and fireworks off Navy Pier.
