
The mission of the Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club is to perpetuate the ideals of Conservative Judaism of Temple Israel & Central Florida and to support its Educational, Spiritual, Social, Recreational, Adult and Youth Programming. Each year, the Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club organizes a diverse array of engaging programming and well attended events and activities including religious and social programs for the congregation, Religious School functions, fund raising, supporting and co-sponsoring events with the Women of Temple Israel. The Temple Israel Men’s Club has a bowling league and sponsors a monthly, first Monday poker game at Temple Israel.
The Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club entered calendar year 2025 by installing two NEW co-Presidents Greg Alman and David Shames, and hosting a LIVE Florida Region FJMC Regional Club meeting and Leadership Training event. Twenty five leaders representing fourteen different Florida Region FJMC Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods were in attendance (and even more online) for a half day of learning, round table discussions and training. “The camaraderie was enjoyable, the presentations were informative and interesting, and breakfast and lunch were delicious“, said Natan Brener, the immediate past President of Temple Israel Men’s Club.
Recent Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club programs and events of note included participation in the 5785 FJMC World Wide Wrap, hosting the FJMC Sefer Haftarah and distribution of FJMC Shoah Yellow Candles™. In addition, Men’s Club organized a family friendly Shabbaton at Lake Louisa Park and a Men’s Club Wine Bar event.
Summer 2025 began on a high note when the Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club was presented a Bronze 2025 FJMC Torch Award for outstanding Men’s Club Shabbat programming. Kol HaKavod and Yasher Koach to Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club on this well deserved honor.
Looking ahead, on August 17, 2025 the Temple Israel Men’s Club will sponsor a trip to the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art.
Yizkor is a Jewish memorial prayer recited during the High Holidays and certain other occasions. It is a time to remember loved ones who have passed away and to offer prayers for their souls. The Temple Israel Men’s Club Hall of Remembrance was created to help YOU observe the custom of Yizkor and honor those of Blessed Memory with a personalized LED Yahrzeit memorial candle for Yizkor on Yom Kippur 5786. Each LED Yahrzeit memorial candle is personalized with the name of YOUR loved one and those honoring his or her memory. All are welcome to participate in this beautiful tribute. This annual gala unites greater Orlando’s Jewish men from all walks of life for an evening filled with entertainment, cocktails, Brotherhood and great Kosher food; proceeds from this event will benefit Jewish Youth Education Programs. All Florida Region FJMC Men’s Club and Brotherhood members and guests are invited to take part in the 2025 Men’s Night Out.
