B’nai Torah Men’s Club Co-President
Dr. Elliot Burns

“Dear Fellow Bnai Torah members. recently I was asked to serve as Men’s Club Co-President alongside my friend, Elliot Burns. It’s an honor to accept this role, and I’m optimistic about what our club can achieve together!I’m excited to see how our Men’s Club can strengthen the relationships within our membership, build on our connections in the community, and serve our congregation with distinction.

I joined B’nai Torah in 2018 upon marrying my wonderful wife, Jennifer Schosheim Alminana. Our family’s connection to B’nai Torah is incredibly meaningful to us. By serving as Men’s Club Co-President, I see this as a small way to give back to our synagogue. I look forward to working with our members and our board to reach our objectives and rise to new challenges. We will continue organizing our established events, such as Scotch in the Sukkah. Vodkas & Latkes, the Bagel Bites speaker series, and others. Additionally, we are launching new events, including a local service project entitled “The Mensch Club.” Our members demonstrate tzedakah and chesed year-round, and by working together with local partners, we aim to grow our impact when giving back. Please stay tuned for details on this and other events we will be organizing.

On the personal side, my wife Jen and I live in Boynton Beach with our son Jacob, a BTC “Mommy & Me” graduate! Jen is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice, helping clients with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and facilitating a caregiver support group here at B’nai Torah. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and New York University. In my professional life, I’m a Senior Financial Advisor and Vice President with Merrill Lynch, based in our Palm Beach office. My focus is working with high-net-worth families and organizations, providing personalized investment management and complex financial planning strategies. I am a graduate of the University of Florida. In a world currently full of tumult, conflict, and grief, we must be intentional about the kind of people and the kind of Jews we want to be.
