Greetings from your friends in Florida Region FJMC. September has finally arrived and Rosh Hashanah 5786 is only a few weeks away.

As the summer calendar slides from Elul to Tishrei and one month closer to the annual autumn migration of “Northern Snowbirds” to the Sunshine State, the Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods of Florida Region FJMC are ready to welcome 5786 with an outstanding selection of engaging programs and events during the month of September.


The events below are a small sampling of some of the planned activities of Florida Region FJMC Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods during September 2025:

The Temple Beth Shalom (TBS) Palm Coast Men’s Club is planning an exciting calendar of engaging programs and events including a joint Lag B’Omer Cookout with Sisterhood, “Pizza Night”, several planned “Havdalah and Pot Luck Dinner” gatherings.

On September 11, Temple Beth Shalom (TBS) Men’s Club members can be found assisting with the monthly TBS (outdoor) grounds cleanup and (indoor) Shabbat Dinner setup; extra hands are always welcome. Men’s Club also invites you to join them on Sunday Morning September 14 to take part in the annual mitzvot of helping to building the Temple Beth Shalom community sukkah; no experience is necessary.

The TBS Men’s Club leadership team hosts a monthly dinner and business meeting and and fresh faces and ideas are always welcome; the next meeting will take place on Wednesday September 17 at 6:00pm. Congregation B’nai Torah Men’s Club Co-Presidents Dr. Elliot Burns invite you to play ball on Sunday September 14 when Florida Region FJMC Men’s Club and Brotherhood members throughout South Florida will attend the annual Miami Marlin’s Jewish Celebration Game wo see the surging Miami Marlins do battle with the First Place Detroit Tigers. Optional Bus transportation has also been arranged to the game with pickup from nearby Temple Torat Emet (West Boynton) and Temple Beth Am (Margate) so you can skip the tolls and parking hassles and travel to the game in style. The Temple Beth Sholom Men’s Club of Melbourne, Florida is currently finalizing their upcoming program schedule for the coming year; Men’s Club’s planned activities tentatively include High Holiday Ushering, participation in Temple Beth Sholom’s Mitzvah Day Temple beautification program, a Bowling night out and several NFL Football viewing / watch parties where we can grunt, cheer, eat food and drink beer (not necessarily in that order). On Sunday September 14 the Temple Beth Am Men’s Club of Margate, Florida will attend the annual Miami Marlin’s Jewish Celebration Game to see the Marlins play the Detroit Tigers with round-trip bus transportation from Beth Am to the game. The next monthly gathering of Beth Am’s FJMC Torch Award winning “Men of the Round Table” will take place on Tuesday September 9 with future sessions scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month on October 21, November 11 and December 9, 2025 from 9:30am to 11:00am and coffee and donuts will be available. Yizkor is a Jewish memorial prayer recited during the High Holidays and certain other occasions. It is a time to remember loved ones who have passed away and to offer prayers for their souls. The Temple Israel Orlando Men’s Club Hall of Remembrance was created to help YOU observe the custom of Yizkor and honor those of Blessed Memory with a personalized LED Yahrzeit memorial candle for Yizkor on Yom Kippur 5786. Each LED Yahrzeit memorial candle is personalized with the name of YOUR loved one and those honoring his or her memory. All are welcome to participate in this beautiful tribute. You can sponsor a one or more candles in the Temple Israel Men’s Club Hall of Remembrance for a small donation of only $10 per candle. The Brotherhood of Kol Ami Tampa is planning for an exciting September, beginning with the next installment of Kol Ami’s award winning Brotherhood TXOKO Cooking class on Tuesday evening September 9. This will be a hands on program with a culinary focus on the culturally rich region of the Caucasus—encompassing Georgia, Armenia, Russia, the Ukraine and the Crimean Peninsula – a region currently disputed between Russia and Ukraine. Remember that we are NOT focusing on the politics of this region, but rather the culinary traditions.
