Florida Region FJMC Rabbinic & Spiritual Advisor Michael D. Klein

At the September 20, 2022 Temple Torat Emet Congregational Board Meeting, Ed Kochman announced to the Board of Directors that Florida Region FJMC President Blake Lenett appointed Torat Emet’s  Rabbi Michael Klein as the Region’s Rabbinic and Spiritual Advisor.  The appointment was gracefully accepted by Rabbi Klein.

Rabbi Klein was appointed in part for his strong support for the Temple Torat Emet Men’s Club and the FJMC’s projects and endeavors“, said Ed Kochmen. “The Rabbi wrote a very supportive letter to the congregation in support of our Yom HaShoah Program, has been a strong supporter of our World Wide Wrap, Men’s Club Shabbat and most recently, the Club’s Torah on Tap program.

The Florida Region is pleased to welcome Rabbi Michael Klein him as our new Rabbinic and Spiritual Advisor. He is a native Miamian and alumni of Miami Coral Park Senior High and Mesivta High School (1972) and University of Miami (December 1975) with B.S. Degrees in Biology and Chemistry and minors and in Education and Music. In 1983 he earned a Masters Degree in Biochemistry and Science Education from Florida International University.

Rabbi Michael D. Klein of Temple Torat Emet

Michael successfully completed a 37 year career as a High School and Middle School Science Teacher, Department Chairman and Assistant Principal from 1975 until 2014. He also attended Yeshiva College of South Florida and served as Torah Reader, Hebrew teacher, Chazzan and spiritual leader of various synagogues throughout South Florida. In January of 2015 he became Ritual Director, Bnai/Bnot Mitzvah instructor and 7th grade Hebrew instructor for Temple Torat Emet of Boynton Beach. In October 2019 he was accepted into an accelerated track at Yeshiva/Mesifta Adas Wolkowisk, completed his Rabbinical studies in July 2020 and has been excited to be the Rabbinic Leadership of Temple Torat Emet since August 1st, 2020.

Michael is married to his wife Mayna since 1977. They have three children (Rachel, Aaron, and Joshua) and five grandchildren (Itay, Hannah, Emma, Abby, and Olivia).
