According to the latest US Census data, Florida is one of the fastest growing regions of the country with population growth of 2.7 million (14.6%) between 2010 and 2020, double the rate of overall US population.
The Florida Region of FJMC is also growing, reaching out and establishing relationships with unaffiliated Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods throughout the sunshine state. Today we are proud to officially introduce you to the Temple Beth Torah Brotherhood of Wellington, Florida – the newest member of the International Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs.
Temple Beth Torah, “A Family of Families”, is a vibrant Reform Jewish Congregation located in the west-central Palm Beach County Village of Wellington. They are actively engaged in the lives of some 1,100 people – more than 100 young children in our accredited preschool, some 250 kids from kindergarten to grade 12 in our religious school programs, dozens of kids in their NFTY youth programs, and 750 adults that call this their spiritual home. Temple Beth Torah is an active and dynamic part of the fabric of life in Wellington, Florida as well as the greater Jewish community of South Florida.
Within the structure of the congregation, the Temple Beth Torah Brotherhood is a service group; a place where people meet, plan and make friends. Their Brotherhood dues support family activities, provide extra funds for our youth groups and sponsor temple events such as the annual picnic poker night and other programs.
The Brotherhood also does the important work, such as funding gifts for youth groups and purchasing educational tools for schools, building the congregational sukkah, aid with refreshments at many temple events, including the Purim Carnival and Chanukah Party, working with the TBT’s Sisterhood planning the annual family picnic event, family outings such as fishing trips, Marlins baseball and Dolphins football games. They also plan and participate in the annual Brotherhood Shabbat Worship Service. The Brotherhood conducts an annual golf tournament as its primary fundraiser; proceeds help fund programs for the congregation, educational programs and an annual donation to the local community.
