Recent Temple Beth David Men’s Club programs and events of note included participation in the 5785 FJMC World Wide Wrap (the fun continued into the evening with a Men’s Club Superbowl Watch Party), a family friendly barbeque, a “Latkes and Libations Celebration” and distribution of FJMC Shoah Yellow Candles™ in advance of a 12-hour Yom Hashoah Vigil of Remembrance. The program included a reading on the names of Holocaust martyrs, words of remembrance from our clergy, the lighting of six memorial candles and a screening of the acclaimed 1995 Academy Award winning documentary short film One Survivor Remembers, in which the horrors of the Shoah are recounted through the words and story of a woman who lived it and survived it. Friends from throughout our community took part in the reading of the names of the Righteous Among The Nations and the names of those whose lives and futures were torn from our people and our world echo in our sanctuary..
In the July/August 2025 issue of Temple Beth David’s newsletter THE SHOFAR BULLETIN, Men’s Club President Mark Paul reported, “Throughout the year, the Temple Beth David Men’s Club brings members together to enjoy each other’s company, and participate in fun and interesting activities. Being part of the Temple Beth David Men’s club is about camaraderie, building friendships and connections with men who share common values and interests. Community has played a significant role in the Jewish people’s resilience and strength. Coming together and growing together as a community is more important now than ever. We hope you will join the Men’s Club and participate. Look for the Men’s Club section on your dues renewal form, check the box and join. If you have been a member, renew. If you will be a first time member, we welcome you. Your presence matters. Your involvement strengthens us all. Be on the lookout for our July 4th barbecue, jointly sponsored by the Men’s Club and Sisterhood, our August 26th joint Men’s Club barbecue with our friends at the Gathering Place, our Fall Start of the New Year Barbecue, and other events throughout the year.”

Whether you’re a longtime member or thinking about joining, this is the year to participate in Men’s Club Events. Great food, great company, and great discussions), Latkes & Libations: A Hanukkah Celebration (Crispy latkes, festive drinks, and warm connections. Let’s light up the season together!), and a Super Bowl Watch Party 2026 Edition on the Big New Screen at TBD.
