Temple Beth Shalom (TBS) began in 1973 as a small group of Jewish families in Palm Coast who had a dream to begin their own synagogue; a place that enriches and uplifts the lives of its members and our community and foster a meaningful and welcoming Jewish home for all Jews in Flagler County. TBS is a place where everyone feels like they belong, where Jew and non-Jew alike, can connect and explore Judaism.
Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club President Jay Givarz describes the TBS Men’s Club as a dedicated support source of the day to the operations Temple Beth Shalom with past spurted programming success over the decades. Jay Givarz is a former Club President of Congregation Etz Chaim in Marietta, GA as well as a 20 year prior career in Jewish Communal Service from Hillel through congregations in Atlanta, Tampa Bay and St. Louis. Jay looks forward to expanding Men’s Club programming with opportunities to bring Jewish learning, Leadership and Culture to the greater Palm Coast community.
Recent Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club programs and events included participation in the 5785 FJMC World Wide Wrap and distribution of FJMC Shoah Yellow Candles™. The TBS Men’s Club also organized a delicious Rose Bowl Parade Bagel & Lox breakfast, an exciting Superbowl LIX Watch Party, a special Passover friendly Men’s Club Matzah Brei Breakfast and organized a group outing with the Men’s Clubs of Temple Beth-El, Congregation B’nai Torah Ormond Beach and Temple Israel Deland Men’s Club to Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach to see the Daytona Tortugas play the Tampa Tarpons.

Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club members do it all; from taking an active role in the annual TBS Lag B’Omer Picnic to representing Florida at the 2025 FJMC Anshei Darom Region Men’s Club Retreat at Camp Ramah Darom (a gathering of dozens of Men’s Club and Brotherhood members from across the Southeastern US). TBS Men’s Club President Jay Giverz also took part in the Florida Region FJMC delegation to attend the 2025 FJMC International Biennial Convention in Chicago.
Looking ahead to the coming new year 5786, the Temple Beth Shalom Men’s Club is planning an exciting calendar of engaging programs and events including a joint Lag B’Omer Cookout with Sisterhood, “Pizza Night”, several planned “Havdalah and Pot Luck Dinner” gatherings and a Men’s Club Shabbaton weekend, February 20 to 22, 2026 – more information coming soon.
