Is your Men's Club or Brotherhood searching for a delicious, easy to replicate and financially successful program? If yes then try a "Kosher Brisket Sale Fundraiser".

One of the highlights of the FJMC International Biennial Convention is the FJMC Club Program Fair, showcasing the programming efforts and creativity of Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods from across North America. The FJMC Program Fair is an opportunity for Convention delegates to learn about outstanding, award winning programming initiatives and interact one-on-one with the FJMC members who designed and championed those very programs.

Of the many programs and initiatives on display at the 2025 FJMC Convention Program Fair, one of the most delicious, easy to replicate and financially successful Men’s Club programs was the “Kosher Brisket Sale Fundraiser” created by the Etz Chaim Men’s Club of Marietta, Georgia. Etz Chaim Men’s Club 2025-2026 President Mathew Nathan explains how the program works:

The Program: Offer Traditional and Smoked Kosher Brisket to our Congregation leading up to Passover. Proceeds go to our Krodman Fund which was established to support scholarships and grants for regional and national FJMC programs. The Results: We purchased 300lbs of Kosher Brisket which brought in almost $2,000 in profits. Adding in additional donations and a future sandwich sale, our total amount earned will be over $3,000. Is it Repeatable? Absolutely. This is an annual event that everyone loves. Our congregants love not having to prepare brisket for Passover and our Club loves cooking. Tips, tools and timeline: Befriend a local kosher butcher and order briskets well in advance (leftover can be frozen whether cooked or not). A digital scale, vacuum sealer and electric slicer will make pack day easier. Cook day is an all day event- schedule volunteer shifts. Brisket Preparation Timeline: Friday morning/afternoon- prep day- trim briskets, make rubs and do anything else that can be done in advance. Sunday- COOK all day- Get briskets on smoker early (can move to oven to save time after a few hours). Put traditional brisket in the oven. Once cooked, wrap and refrigerate. Monday- Slice and Pack day- print labels based on orders (make note between smoked and traditional). Vacuum seal all orders individually. Tuesday/Wednesday- pick-up days- Use spreadsheet to verify orders.”
