One of the highlights of the FJMC International Biennial Convention is the FJMC Club Program Fair, showcasing the programming efforts and creativity of Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods from across North America. The FJMC Program Fair is an opportunity for Convention delegates to learn about outstanding, award winning programming initiatives and interact one-on-one with the FJMC members who designed and championed those very programs.
Of the many programs and initiatives on display at the 2025 FJMC Convention Program Fair, one of the most interesting, lowest cost and easy to replicate Men’s Club programs showcased was the “Man of the Year Lapel Pin” created by the Tifereth Israel Men’s Club of Columbus, Ohio. Tifereth Israel Men’s Club President Mark Rosenson explains how the program works:
“Typically, clubs present a handsome, engraved acrylic trophy to annual Man of the Year award recipients. The problem is unless folks come to your home or office, no one ever sees the trophy. Our solution was to create a lapel pin for our club’s Man of the Year. We enlisted a local art teacher from the congregation to come up with the design based on our input and specifications. She not only designed the pin, but she also placed the order with “Wizardpins”. We ordered fifty (50) pins in order to give a pin to every past winner and have quite a few in reserve for future winners. The total cost was $322 plus what we paid the teacher for the design work. We are very pleasantly surprised that on any given Saturday, you will see at least one, perhaps two or even three of these pins being worn. They are a great conversation starter and instill a real sense of pride for the recipients to wear. The pins have raised the visibility of the club and were a great investment.”
Creating a custom lapel pin is a low cost way to brand and market your Men’s Club or Brotherhood.
