Two of the highlights of the FJMC International Biennial Convention are the presentation of FJMC Torch Awards to recognize Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods “that develop quality programming, build community and support the growth and development of their clubs” and the FJMC Club Program Fair, showcasing the programming efforts and creativity of Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods from across North America.

The FJMC Program Fair is an opportunity for Convention delegates to learn about outstanding, award winning programming initiatives and interact one-on-one with the FJMC club leaders who designed and championed those very programs. In the spirit of the Biennial FJMC Programming Fair, this post is part of a continuing “Spotlight On” series that will share information about creative, engaging, low-cost and highly effective programming ideas that can easily be easily replicated by any Florida Region Men’s Club or Brotherhood.
The B’nai Amoona Men’s Club of St. Louis, MO was awarded an FJMC Torch Award for outstanding programming at the 2025 FJMC International Biennial Convention in Chicago for their “Hearing Men’s Voices: Men’s Health Edition” featuring Dr. Roman Lev. B’nai Amoona 2023-2025 Men’s Club President Kevin Litt explains the program:
“Men’s Club held a special Hearing Men’s Voices – Medical Edition with Dr. Ronan Lev, a doctor board-certified by the American Board of Urology with a specialization in laparoscopy and stone surgery and an active member of our club. Dr. Lev led a discussion on Men’s Health and aging covering a wide-ranging set of topics. In addition to answering members’ questions, and addressing men’s health/aging in general terms, Dr. Lev also opened up the discussion for any medical topic the group was interested in. What resulted was a lively discussion over a multitude of health issues men face as we grow older. Men’s health issues are not typically a popular topic however this was one of our highest attended HMV program. To help make men even more comfortable, we provided the club with a link to where they could ask questions anonymously. This allowed guys to attend and ask questions without having to raise their hand. Our HMV presenter Dr. Lev did a fantastic job of starting with a basic description of issues men have as they age, and then letting the group lead the conversation with questions. This HMV program allowed for very meaningful conversations, and no one felt any stigma in asking questions that didn’t feel comfortable asking in a group format – because they had the opportunity to ask the questions via an anonymous form submission.“
HaKavod and Yasher Koach to the B’nai Amoona Men’s Club for creating and sharing the details of their FJMC Torch Award winning “Hearing Men’s Voices: Men’s Health Edition” program with other Men’s Clubs and Brotherhoods.
